today, john mccain announced his plan to balance the federal budget by the end of his first term 2013. how exactly is he going to do this you might wonder? according to the nytimes "
it is unclear." especially given his plans to keep troops in iraq and afghanistan and extend the bush tax cuts. while mccain's budget plan doesn't contain any actual numbers, it does include vague ideas like: "Reserving all savings from victory in the Iraq and Afghanistan operations in the fight against Islamic extremists for reducing the deficit."
