michael hsiung is an east la artist whose work locals might recognize from la record music reviews. when not drawing real-life musicians, hsiung creates fantastical scenes populated by sailors, hunters, and imaginary animals like mermen and baby alpaca unicorns. a few of his drawings are on display at the giant robot store on sawtelle and at the crazians! exhibit at the world of wonder gallery. check out an interview with him here.
