danny hess is skyrocketing to fame in the surf world as one of the most innovative board shapers around thanks to the unique wood (poplar) boards he designs. these things are absolute works of art. simply gorgeous. they're environmentaly friendly (made from recycled materials) and have longer lifespans than typical boards thanks to the wood and cork being more durable than foam. also, they rip. his site was recently reworked and is something to behold even if you don't surf.
